The shot list
1. Each side of the house
- Stand back far enough to capture the full roofline edge
- One photo per side — front, back, left, right
- Include the ground line so we can judge height and access
2. Corners and rooflines
- Close-ups of inside/outside corners (miters) — common leak points
- Any valleys where two roof planes meet
- Areas where gutters visibly sag, separate, or pull away
3. Every downspout
- Full length of each downspout, top to bottom
- Where the water discharges — splash block, extension, or bare ground
- Any downspouts that are crushed, detached, or missing
4. Problem areas
- Water stains on siding or fascia boards
- Pooling water, eroded soil, or moss near the foundation
- Rotted wood, peeling paint, or rust along the gutter line
5. Anything that affects access
- Steep slopes, decks, or landscaping below the roofline
- Fences or obstacles around the house perimeter
- Second-story sections above porches or additions

- Shoot in daylight — avoid heavy shadow or dusk
- Hold the phone horizontal (landscape) for roofline shots
- Do not climb a ladder — everything we need is visible from the ground
